Located by Pansea beach on the west coast of Phuket, Amanpuri is a 20-minute, 17 kilometre scenic drive from Phuket Airport.

Decoration & Style

Amanpuri,a Sanskrit word meaning “Place of Peace”, reflects its name in more ways than one. The entrance Sala, surrounded by lotus ponds, overlooks the resort’s main swimming pool, the restaurants and bar.

Amanpuri’s rare gift is the privacy, and the privileged space, that guests are afforded. There are only 40 pavilions at Amanpuri, some with sea views, all with a terrace and sala for sunbathing or leisurely dining. Each pavilion is spacious and stylishly spare.

Adjacent to the resort, hidden away among the coconut palms, are 30 privately owned Amanpuri villas, most of them with ocean-front settings. Each of these traditional Thai homes is an expansive compound complete with a black-tiled pool and from two to six individual bedrooms. The villas provide separate dining, living and bedroom pavilions, all finished with understated Thai furnishing, art and antiques. A live-in maid and a cook with a taste for home-style Thai cuisine attend to all guest needs.

The Villas, with their separate rooms and spacious surroundings are ideal locations for private meetings, seminars and incentives.

Two relaxed and varied restaurants – Facing the swimming pool, the Terrace is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine and is open every evening.

The Bar offers poolside drinks and snacks. At last light, half a dozen small, molded-brass tables, each with twin teak, rattan blacked chairs are set out along the terrace between the pool and the steps leading to the private beach. The view is to the sun setting in the Andaman Sea. The impromptu sunset bar is one of life’s “peaceful places”.

Beach Barbeque

From November to April, lunches and evening torch-lit beach barbeques are held down on the Beach, weather permitting.

Amancruises

Diversions are many at Amanpuri. Its Amancruises fleet, numbering more than 20 cruises and sailing craft, is one of Southeast Asia’s largest cruise operations. Amancruises specializes in scheduled and private charters to the beautiful islands and bays of the surrounding Andaman Sea.
