Transfer to the pier in Phang Nga, an hour
and a half trip by bus. Here the group will take a boat tour to Ao Phan Nga Bay
where they can admire the mangroves, cliffs, and the strange rock and
half-submerged caves which were made famous in the James Bond movie, Koh Khao
Tapu. In the afternoon the group can enjoy visiting the unusual Pan Yee Muslim
Fishing Village, which is completely on stilts. Pan Yee is a fascinating
village, built literally in the sea, they have a mosque, a school, houses,
restaurants and shops, all built on stilts.

Sites at a glance
Phang Nga
Over 95 km. from Phuket, the area around Ao
Phang-Nga is very scenic, many limestone cliffs, odd rock formations, and
islands that rise out of the sea like inverted mountains.

Pan Yee Village
A couple of Indonesian families who fled from
their country 100 years ago established this village which is on small pilings
and extends out across the water. It is inhabited chiefly by Muslim fisher folk
whose unique culture has existed. This village now has a population of more than
1320 from all Islamic countries in South East Asia.
Recommendation:
For a high budget group a tour to
Phang Nga starting with a cruise from Phuket can be arranged with lunch served
on board. On the way back to Phuket the boat will stop at Khai Island
