 Sensations : Discovery Myanmar-11 Days / 10 Nights


This trip begins with arrival in Yangon where you are escorted to your hotel to freshen up. The rest of the day will be free. In the evening, welcome dinner with Myanmar traditional show at Karaweik Restaurant. Overnight in Yangon.

After breakfast at hotel, a short flight takes us to Mandalay, upon arrival, there is approximately a two hour drive from Mandalay to May Myo (Pyin Oo Lwin) where we will commence learning enjoying the romantic National Kandaygyi Botanical Gardens,seeing the ancient colonial Building , the Chinese Temple, Myhoma Market and Mahar Anhtookanthar Pagoda are the amazing sites that await us. Lunch will be served a at local restaurant. Afternoon visit Pwe gauk Waterfall and Pate Chin Myaung Cave and return to the hotel. Overnight in May Myo.

After breakfast, we will be transferred to the train station. (Train arrives from Mandalay to May Myo at 08.15.) On the train we will be passing over the Goteik Bridge until Naung Pain Station. Around, we have the natural beauty of the Northern Shan State, and it will be here where we will have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch it is time to drive to Hsipaw and overnight at Hsipaw.

After breakfast, and with comfortable clothing, we will head to the dock of the river Docktawady in order to cross it to go to a Shan Monastery, we will then take soft trekking, nothing too demanding, but enough to show a different face to the country. After the trek, we head back to Hispaw by boat and visit Shan Palace in the late afternoon prior returning to the hotel. Overnight at Hsipaw.

After breakfast we hit the road, it will be approximately 4 hours by car to Mandalay, where we will visit Baw Gyo Pagoda on the way. This pagoda is packed with Images of Budda and Stupas. The particularity of this place is that each image is from a donor, and there is also a difference in the years these images were donated, making an interesting contrast. The very first donor of the main Pagoda was a Myanmar King (Thiridhama Thawka). The Pagoda has a lot of strange features such as a “Sakar Tree” uncommonly taller than the Pagoda itself, the basement of the South West Pagoda has water features and on each entrance we will find Ogre images, very unusual. Lunch will take place in a local restaurant and, upon arrival to Mandalay there will be a transfer to the hotel and time for leisure. Overnight in Mandalay.

After breakfast we will head for the visit of Mahamuni Pagoda, the gold and crimson site was originally built by King Bodawpaya in 1784, when a brick road was constructed from his palace to the Paya’s eastern gate. We can still find traces of this royal highway then visit Kuthodaw Pagoda, home to 729 marble stone slabs inscribed with Buddhist scripture ,at the same period when work began on the royal palace. Lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, time to visit Mandalay Palace which was more than just royal living quarters , it was a walled city within Mandalay, we will continue onto Shwenandaw this monastery is of great interest, not only as a fine example of traditional Burmese wooden monastery, but also as a fragile reminder of the old Mandalay Palace. This evening, enjoy a commanding overview of the city from the Mandalay Hill at the top the reward is a full panoramic view-the hazy blue outline of the Shan hills to the east, the Mandalay Palace to the south and the Ayeyarwady to the west. Transfer to the hotel and overnight in Mandalay.

After breakfast at the hotel we head to the airport to take a domestic flight to Bagan. Arrival in Bagan and transfer to the hotel for a refreshment. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant and after lunch, we will visit the Shwezigon Pagoda, glory of Bagan, with 900 years since its construction, the temple with its impressive Htilominlo, then continues with the visit to Ananda Temple, one of the most impressive temples of Bagan, dating from the eleventh century. After all these visits, there will be time to experience a horse carriage ride passing temples which is one the unforgettable experience to watch the sunset from the upper terrace of. After Sunset, transfer to the hotel, and overnight in Bagan.

Day 8: BAGAN

After breakfast at the hotel. We will commence discovering the lively Nyaung Oo Market before proceeding to visit Thatbyinnyu Pagoda remarked to be constructed during the Bagan’s Middle period. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit Manuha Temple and Sulamani Temple stopping en route to visit Lacquer ware Shops and learn about the painstaking process of lacquer ware making and decoration return to hotel. Tonight, there is a special dinner at local restaurant with puppet show .Overnight in Bagan.

After an early morning’s breakfast at the hotel we head to the domestic airport to take a flight to Heho, once there, on a short transfer we will be in Nyaung Shwe, the gateway village to Inle Lake. Then, head out to Inle Lake behold the sight of the Intha fishermen and their unique one-legged rowing styles as you cruise past the local villages on a private motorboat. Visit the Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery, a simple wooden temple perched by the lake. Lunch at local restaurant. Then, visit Phaung Daw Ou Pagoda, one of the most famous principal pagodas in Myanmar before witnessing the production of traditional Intha silks and Burmese cigars in the cheroot factory at Inpawkhone weaving village. Return to the hotel and overnight in Inle Lake.

After breakfast, transfer to Heho Airport for flight to Yangon. Continue to the Scott Market (Closed on Mondays) where you can see localproducts of gems, paintings, handicrafts and variety of textiles of hill tribes. Lunch at Local Restaurant. we will visit Sule Pagoda, there will have some time to relax in the hotel, and then we will leave for an unforgettable visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda as one of the highlights of the day, the late afternoon visit will allow us to feel the changes in the pagoda, the sun light will go away and the Shwedagon will receive the assistance of the electric lighting to shine at night, then we will take some time prior going for Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Yangon

Awake unrushed, with no scheduled activity. Enjoy breakfast at hotel and leisurely free time until check out and transfer for flight back home.
