Luxuries : Thailand in Style-8 Days / 7 Nights

     
Day 1: BANGKOK

After arrival, transfer to a very chic and stylish hotel in the heart of downtown Bangkok. Enjoy the onsite amenities including yoga classes, or take time to wrap yourself in their luxurious spa. This is a great day to rejuvenate yourself after a long flight. In the evening, transfer to Siam Niramit for the Thai heritage show. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 2: BANGKOK

This morning, transfer to the Golden Mount housing the relic of the Buddha and then visit Chinatown. Continue to take the long tail boat to see the way of lives along the River of King with delicious lunch at the local restaurant by the river. Next, visit the Grand Palace and Temple of Emerald Buddha which is the land mark of Bangkok. Evening, enjoy the panoramic view while sipping the cocktail at one of the tallest buildings in the city before return to hotel.

Day 3: BANGKOK

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day for exploring the City of Angels. Recommended sites are the Thai art and Cultural Museum, located just off the Sky Train line at National Stadium, Jim Thompson House, The temple of Reclining Buddha, etc. Return to your hotel at leisure and overnight at the Metropolitan Hotel.

Day 4: BANGKOK - KHAO YAI

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by road to Khao Yai. En route, stop at Rangsit halls where you can find the mountains of watermelons, bananas and all sorts of local vegetable stalls from the central part of the country. Arrive to the edge of Khao Yai Park for check-in at the chic mountain resort, Kirimaya. Lunch at the hotel. Afternoon is free & allows you to enjoy the facilities of the hotel. Before night falls, a safari vehicle will pick you up to the National Park. If luckily, you may encounter some “residents” of the park: tigers, leopard cats, deer, elephants, gibbons, pythons, cobra, giant black squirrels, porcupines, or a few of the species living in the park. Back to the hotel for overnight at Kirimaya.

Day 5: KHAO YAI - KORAT - PIMAI - KHAO YAI

After breakfast, heading to the gateway of North Eastern Thailand. On the way to Korat, visit the statue of the courageous Thao Suranari who saved the city from attackers. Continue to Prasat Hin Pimai (built before Angkor Wat, serving as a model to its architects). Here we visit museum housing the finest pieces of Khmer art found in Thailand. Lunch at a local restaurant or picnic lunch under the oldest and largest tree called Sai Ngam (Banyan Beauty). After lunch, explore Wat Pa Lak Roy, an original temple with an exhibition of colorful animal’s sculptures, scenes of daily life and many religious symbolic statues producing the animated eerie sounds. Here, you can take a train pulled by a tractor to go around (optional) or go up to the heavenly statue of Buddha pulled by a cable. Return to hotel and Overnight at Kirimaya.

Day 6: KHAO YAI - BANGKOK - CHIANG MAI

After an early breakfast we head back to Bangkok airport for your flight to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival to the Northern capital, check-in at The Chedi, located on the bank of the Ping River. Enjoy the Northern Lanna style lunch at local restaurant. Afterwards, head to the craft villages of Baan Tawai, the main center of wood carving where you can find the wooden furniture and many hand carved items. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight at The Chedi.

Day 7: CHIANG MAI

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for the elephant camp in Chiang Dao. Marvel at these colossal beasts performing amazing feats of strength and skill while being controlled by their mahouts or elephant handlers. Enjoy the elephant riding through the jungle followed by a trek to remote village of the Lisu hill tribe. Continue for an adventure on a bamboo raft the in the cool and swelling waters of the Ping River. After local lunch, head to the caves of Chiang Dao before return to hotel and overnight at The Chedi.

Day 8: CHIANG MAI - DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart early morning to watch the procession of monks in the streets collecting the alms. Proceed to the mountains that surround Chiang Mai valley to Doi Suthep. It is the one of the most sacred temple in Chiang Mai and contains a holy relic of Lord Buddha. Here you will see the panoramic views of the city. Continue to the monument dedicated to Khru Ba Srivichai who was one of the most famous Lanna monks of this century. Transfer to airport for departure.
